As a sentient species, we like to think we have choices in all matters, and that we exercise values in making those choices. In today’s world, our seemingly infinite choices are actually significantly limited and our values shift over time in unpredictable ways because both choices and values rely on incomplete, at best adequate information. Without information values become exercises in meaningless rituals. Pushing the frontiers of cardinal technologies, the “Five Horsemen—Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Information and Communication technology, Robotics, and Applied Cognitive Science”, are propelling us to manage this profusion of information and effectively assert meaningful choices and responsible values regarding the world around us. As a collective, we aspire to meaningfully contribute to this global growth of Human Capital and solve business/humanitarian/societal problems, using our experience and passion for technology.
Emergence of India as a digitally focused nation, poses relevant opportunities and problems. In a country like our’s, one can’t imagine bigger impact surfaces than “Distribution” and “Healthcare”, the latter, being a prerequisite to life with dignity, and Distribution, playing an important role in accumulation and dissemination of that human capital, which in turn, benefits with large scale diffusion of technology. Accepting as core tenet, that in these sprawling domains the pace of economic growth is directly proportional to the adoption of new technologies, we have focused our vision and development efforts in offering finished solutions, business driven innovations and consulting expertise in the digital transformation space. The complementary vertical to our commercial offerings is Onometra R&D, where we focus on exploiting emerging technologies like Machine Learning, Distributed Ledgers and Industrial IoT, to solve challenging problems of exploratory nature, mainly in Healthcare and Supply Chain Management areas.
We have been asked, to explain why we are not running a non-profit research organization instead? Well, we of course recognize and actively advocate the value of exploratory research, but our founders as industry veterans, are shamelessly addicted to the thrill of cracking knotty business problems to drive high pressure software development, delivering gratifying resolutions to real world issue.
Okay, before you can point out, yes, we also want to pay the bills for all of us who work at Onometra 🙂
